Marloes Coenen defeats Fiona Muxlow by 1st Round Armbar – Thoughts

Marloes Coenen was probably just as pissed as I was that Muxlow was ranked so high, albeit in a thin division, and rightfully wanted to prove my anger. Outclassing Muxlow everywhere. Taking it to her on the feet. Then, getting the beautiful armbar over the BJJ Black Belt. Continue Reading »

Megumi Fujii defeats “V.V.” Mei Yamaguchi – Post Fight Ramblings (and video)

This was Megumi Fujii’s first fight since her controversial decision defeat to Jessica Aguilar. The judges awarded the decision to Fujii, but it was an extremely hard fought decision. However, I believe Yamaguchi’s hard ground and pound in the 2nd round should have made this a draw (or do they have the Ultimate Fighter style, 3rd round if necessary?). Continue Reading »

Numbers Don’t Lie: A look at Invicta FC finish rate, fights by division…

We’re just about done with 2012 and on the edge of yet another stacked INVICTA FC card, which takes place January 5th and can be streamed live on Invictafc.com. An all-female promotion run by a tightknit crew, largely, led by Shannon Knapp. So, I thought it would be informative and interesting to look at some numbers from Invicta, even though it only ran 3 events this year.
