Marloes Coenen was probably just as pissed as I was that Muxlow was ranked so high, albeit in a thin division, and rightfully wanted to prove my anger. Outclassing Muxlow everywhere. Taking it to her on the feet. Then, getting the beautiful armbar over the BJJ Black Belt. Continue Reading »
“Claudia broke her nose in five different places and had to have surgery,” said Knapp. “I can’t name names yet, but we’ve got a few solid potential replacements to fight Carla.” And that replacement is Australia’s Bec Hyatt. Fellow Australian, Fiona Muxlow, received the call to fight Marleos Coenen at Dream.18, and now Bec Hyatt gets the opportunity to fight for the Invicta FC 115 Pound Title against Carla Esparza. Megumi Fujii Talks a host of topics including Ronda, Aguilar rematch, first loss, Josh Barnett, Fedor and much more
Fantastic interview done by the beautiful people over at ASIANMMA. They have other interviews with JWMMA fighters, such as Fujino, V.V. Mei, and Yamanaka. Very intimate setting. The fighters look like they are at ease when conducting these interviews and the atmosphere makes it feel like the fighter is speaking to you. Shout out to, whoever did the interview and the translator. Continue Reading »

It’s been a crazy year for WMMA with the massive rise of Ronda Rousey becoming the first UFC Champion. In addition to headlining UFC 157 against Liz Carmouche, also a first for women. An all-female promotion run by a tightknit crew, largely, led by Shannon Knapp. So, I thought it would be informative and interesting to look at some numbers from Invicta, even though it only ran 3 events this year.
In this first installment of WMMA recap, I will be doing what the title says. Recapping WMMA action. However, highlighted will be fighters that are ranked in our top 25 rankings or fighters on the brink of breaking through. Without further ado… read more Continue Reading »
